A timer that means it
Once a paper is started the countdown can't be paused. If time runs out before it's finished, whatever's been answered by that point becomes the official timed score. There's no rewinding the clock, on screen or in real life.
A real answer sheet on the 11+ papers
Every 11+ paper splits into two panels: a read-only booklet with the full passage, diagram or working, and a separate answer sheet with a letter bubble for each option, the same two-part format used on a real GL Assessment paper, not a single scrolling quiz.
Written straight into the paper on SATs
The SATs papers use free-text boxes, not multiple choice: an answer is typed in directly, the same as writing it into a real KS2 SATs booklet, rather than picked from a list of options that isn't there in the real exam.

The Downloads page in the dashboard turns any of the papers above into a single PDF with three separate sections: a printed question booklet, a matching answer sheet for the student to mark their answers on, and a mark scheme kept apart from the booklet: the correct answer for every question, for a tutor or parent to mark by hand rather than something the student sees while attempting the paper. Same questions, same real timing, just on paper instead of on screen.
